Every tutor is checked by hand
Before a profile goes live we check the tutor's ID, their certificates, and their two-minute intro video. Subjects are approved one at a time, so a tutor cannot quietly add a subject they are not qualified for.
The UAE teacher permit
Since December 2023 private tutoring in the UAE requires a permit from MoHRE and the Ministry of Education. It is free and takes a few days. Tutors who show us a valid permit get a badge and rank above tutors without one.
In-person lessons
Only the tutor's area is shown, never their address. For lessons at your home, we recommend a room with the door open and an adult in the house.
Attendance is recorded by the student scanning the tutor's code at the start of the lesson.
Messages
Phone numbers, emails and social handles are blocked automatically, including attempts to hide them. This is not to trap you - it is what lets us protect your payment and step in if something goes wrong.
Reporting a problem
Every lesson page has a Report a problem button, which pauses the payment and sends it to us. For anything urgent involving a child's safety, contact the local authorities first, then tell us.
This is a plain-English starting point, not legal advice. Have a UAE lawyer read it before you take real payments.
